Project overview

The project is located on the site of a historic mill and power plant. The first hydropower plant on this site was constructed in the 19th century, and subsequently several upgrades were completed in the 20th century, with the current power plant making use of some of the existing elements and finally being commissioned on 31.12.2016. The Client’s wish was for a power house design with 4 ‘feet’ on the roof, similar to an upturned stool.

Scheme

weir → tunnel → water chamber → GRP penstock 45 m → power house → outlet channel 100 m → river Jizera → power line 0.1 km 35 kV
